Tony Green for Carmel

Trusted – Transparent – Independent

The Carmel City Council once again has made significant changes to what was known as the Southwest District.

Just four years ago the district was conspicuously altered by the council. In 2018, the Carmel Council voted 6-1 to approve a new district map that removed 6 precincts in the western part of the Southwest district with a little more than 5 months prior to an election and replaced those precincts with 10 new precincts including the newly annexed Home Place.

As in 2018, I was again the lone “no” vote at the Nov. 21, 2022, meeting that altered the district, removing two precincts and adding a precinct in the Village of West Clay and Briar Creek.

The alterations are significant enough that the district has been renamed the South Central District.

Make sure you know your district when considering your vote for City Council representative this year.
